ALL THINGS ENGLISH"

NEW CHILDREN'S BOOK SERIES

We have such a rich culture here - Liverpool won the Capital of Culture in 2008!  A nice day in England, at ALL THINGS ENGLISH wouldn't be complete without a visit to the Beatles home town and joining a sing along in the Cavern, the famous club which launched the careers of countless celebrities such as Cilla Black, the Searchers - even the Hollies appeared there.  Of course, England is famous for its well known people - I only have to mention Julie Andrews - you can see many of the iconic sights where they filmed Mary Poppins in London, James Bond 007, the acclaimed actress Judi Dench who famously played the role of M in Skyfall and many other films and, of course, our favourite caring, kind, compassionate, beautiful royal - Diana - the People's Princess!  If you are passionate about music, no visit to England would be complete without a trip to Leeds (where our very own Scary Spice, Melanie Brown, was born) and Watford - not only the home of Harry Potter Studios but also the town which is home of Mel B's best mate, Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell!)  While you're in Liverpool, you need to take a Magical Mystery Tour which (here's a little spoiler for you) takes you past the homes of all the world famous English band, the Beatles.

Just a stones throw away from Liverpool is the most famous street and pub in the world - don't forget to meander down Coronation Street and stop for a hotpot in the Rovers Return!  While there you can step into the iconic television sets - you can see the original film set of the street itself.

Lovers of film andtelevision are in Seventh Heaven when they visit England.  Oxford has served as the central location for hundreds of films including, most famously, Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland, The Golden Compass and Morse.  You can take a walking tour around the streets and see where the Quidditch game was played - fans of Harry Potter must be sure to visit Blenheim Palace - not only is this stunning place home of Her Majesty the Queen of England, but it's also the only place you can see the old Cedar tree which featured in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - in fact, it's difficult to find anywhere in Oxford that wasn't used for filming the iconic series.  You will get a thrill of excitement as you see the home of Alice in Wonderland and, if you feel adventurous, take a punt along the river.
If you are here the last weekend in March, you are in for a treat because that's when the famous Oxford/Cambridge boat race takes place - get there early to get that coveted spot by the river.
If you fancy beautiful countryside and books you need to visit the most literary part of the world - the Lake District!  Home to Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter where you can walk for miles.  And of course there's a quaint little bookstore where you can pick up your favourite copy of one of the Little Series Children's book. Like our books, the view is inspirational with something new at every turn.

Follow the characters from the television series Little Melanie: Live!  (Little Melanie- Inspired by: Spice Girl Mel B- Melanie Brown and Little K -  Inspired by: Attorney General Kamala Harris- USA the two girls  absolutely love to travel) the cousins will take you on the trip of a lifetime. They are your tour guides.

They begin in the naval city of Portsmouth where both experience life at sea, visiting HMS Victory and the Mary Rose.  Little K is fascinated to learn how a simple rock saved England from invasion - see for yourself how miraculous that was!

The girls swiftly move on to London, revelling in the excitement of life there, gasping at the beauty of the Crown Jewels and, of course, getting lost in Hampton Court's maze. There faces are in awe at the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace... And soon after her majesty Queen Elizabeth II exits, the girls could not be more happy exchanging the Queen's wave, each have been to visit the Queen.

Melanie and K are your guides through the journey of a lifetime and are excited to show you around.
